For many people who remember Trax In Space, it is remembered as a place where people who loved music and people who loved to make music had a place to call home. It had pieces that sites such as MySpace, iTunes and even Facebook mimic today. The site, which had its roots as early as 1993 was shutdown in 2001. But now it is coming back...
To its founders, Trax In Space is still very important. It was a place to escape to, to listen to great music, to find new music you never knew even existed and most importantly to make friends. I know that I owe many friendships to Trax In Space, and these friendships have stood the test of time.
But now it is time for a rebirth. While online music has made great strides since Trax In Space, it still has not fulfilled its promise. With time comes learning and change. Through the new Trax In Space, I hope to fulfill the promise that Trax In Space held - to bring music into people's lives, to help musicians become better musicians and to help people make lasting connections through music.
